Muddy Miners raise $3K for local children’s charities

KITTANNING, PA., September 04, 2017 – The Muddy Miners team, which is comprised of Snyder Associated Company employees, recently competed in the Tough Mudder event in Slippery Rock.  The team, sponsored by Snyder Associated Companies, raised $3K to be distributed between the Butler County Alliance for Children and Kay’s Cottage of Armstrong County. Both organizations offer forensic interviews to children identified as potential victims and/or witnesses to child maltreatment and abuse. KITTANNING, PA., August 01, 2017 – Local high school seniors were recipients of a $4,000 scholarship award from Snyder Associated Companies. Mark Snyder presented worthy seniors with the award to aid in their future educational endeavors. Snyder Associated Companies’ Relay for Life team, Fueled Up, would love to give a great big THANK YOU to everyone who made the 2016 Ford City Relay for Life a success. With just a few months of prep, we had a very fruitful Paint & Sip fundraiser, as well as the annual Relay event. Our overall team goal was to raise $12,000. Blessings in a Backpack

Armstrong School District’s West Hills Elementary recently wrapped up their inaugural Blessings in a Backpack campaign. The program started in the fall with the goal of providing 15 students with food filled bags every Friday. With the help of our employee’s contributions the school was able to serve 44 students. Every dollar given, food item donated, and word shared contributed to a successful program that allowed many children to have a hunger free weekend. We look forward to supporting this program in future years.  

Polar Bear Plunge

While many slept off the after-effects of New Year’s Eve, some brave souls began 2016 with a splash – right into the Allegheny River. The snow flurries and high winds did not deter those participating in the first Snyder Polar Plunge. Even the official canceling of the 17th Annual Dianna Ashbaugh Memorial Polar Bear Plunge, due to unsafe river conditions, did not discourage the majority of our team. KITTANNING, PA., July 6 – Allegheny Mineral is pleased to announce that it’s Graff/Worthington quarry has earned top honors for surface mine safety within Group VI Surface Metal/Non-Metal Mines for 2014. The award identifies the Graff/Worthington Quarry as the safest medium operator surface mine among industry peers in the region. This is the fourth year in a row that an Allegheny Mineral quarry has been awarded this honor. In 2011 and 2012 Allegheny Mineral’s  Harrisville Quarry was awarded top honors, which was followed by the Slippery Rock Quarry in 2013. Allegheny Mineral has won 4 of the last 5 years…
